Dear All,
I would like to take this opportunity to introduce the initiative, which was formed in August 2009. "Red Card to Racism" is a charitable action idea along the lines of similar initiatives already operating in other European countries. The idea was born in 2005, during the football tournament in western Poland, where I witnessed the scandalous behaviour directed toward the teams composed of dark-skinned players. The problem of racism has been completely ignored by the city and the organizers. Despite series of good games and reach the final of the tournament, teams had to leave Poland. After returning to the UK we decided to do something about it, and the end result is a "Red Card to Racism." Official activities WWW.CKR.ORG.PL "Red Card to Racism” began during Football Tournament in Opalenica Remes Cup 2009. Students from the school Greig City Academy-Hornsey organized competitions, contests and distributde materials that promote tolerance, diversity, multicultural, Fair Play. More than 5000 participants of Remes Cup Football Tournament have received very positively our message and in 2010, we carried out a campaign again. Less than 2 years, we returned public attention to the problem of racism in sport, as well as in everyday life. "Red Card to Racism" found support in government organizations, non-government organisations, sports clubs and schools. We try to support various initiatives in Poland and the UK. The main goal of our campaign is to conduct promotional and educational activities. "Red Card to Racism" sets itself the task of creating and distributing promotional and educational materials with content that will help combat the problem of racism in sport. Key toosl in our campaign are the athletes. Their image and experience in sport for young Poles are a positive stimulus and an example to follow. Our campaign is promoted by: Polish Premier League club GKS Belchatow, young female players and footballers of Mirostowiczanka Mirostowice , basketball players from TPS Gniezno, Polish Premier League Club Lechia Gdansk, LKS Lodz, Widzew Lodz, Gryf 95 Slupsk, ASPN "Viking" Aleksandrów Kujawski, Chynowianki Chynów and London Eagles FC, as well as Christine Ohuruogu British Athlete and olympic champion in the 400m run in Beijing. Ideas of tolerance and fair play are part of the educational programs conducted by Polish football clubs in Polish schools. "Red Card to Racism” is also working with the Law Office of the Prime Minister, which gives us substantial support and inform us about the various events associated with our activities to the theme. In the last two years we supported various initiatives in Poland. We assisted in organizing sports tournaments and competitions in schools. We hope and we are trying to spread our campaign throughout the Polish and Poles living in Britain. In the coming year 2011 we plan to again participate in the Football Tournament Remes Cup with students from Greig City Academy, and we hope to host the first "Summer School with Arsenal FC" on Polish territory, where young students of football and their coaches, not only will be able to train under trainers from London, but also learn the ideas and philosophy of the club, which brings together players and fans from all over the world. Long-term goal of our campaign is to further promote the idea of combating racism and officially entered into the program our upcoming EURO 2012 in Poland and Ukraine. We hope that everyone who will join us and offer help will be a key link in the fight against this negative phenomenon in the sport, which is racism. If you have any suggestions, questions, or would like to actively participate in our campaign, please contact us. Best regards Piotr Malecki
